About me
Lars de Bruijn
Test Automation Engineer on the edge of DevOps, making the switch to DevOps, cloud and platform engineering.
In my current role I'm mainly focused on AI Agentic Quality Engineering, and from time to time I pick up DevOps tasks too. Those tasks are what I enjoy most, and they're where I want to spend my career.
I'm deeply fascinated by Kubernetes and Linux: how things run, how they fail and how to make them reliable.
The journey
Background
Test Automation Engineer
My roots are in software quality: building test frameworks, wiring test suites into CI pipelines and debugging the environments they run in. That work kept pulling me towards containers, pipelines and infrastructure.
Now
Test Automation Engineer on the edge of DevOps
Mainly focused on AI Agentic Quality Engineering, while regularly picking up DevOps tasks along the way. Every one of those tasks confirms where I want to go next.
Goal
DevOps / Cloud / Platform Engineer
Make the full switch to DevOps, cloud and platform engineering: building and running the platforms that teams ship on, with Kubernetes and Linux at the core.
Currently focused on
Kubernetes
Deeply fascinated by how it schedules, heals and scales workloads. Running and breaking clusters to understand them.
Linux
The foundation under everything: processes, networking, permissions and the shell.
AI Agentic Quality Engineering
My day-to-day focus: using AI agents to rethink how software gets tested and validated.
